ABOUT US
Sussex-born Richard Thomlinson
originally trained as
a microbiologist. Following the hurricane of 1987, he changed direction
and set
up in business with one of the first Woodmizer mobile sawmilling
machines in Sussex.
In 1992 Richard bought a derelict sawmill yard in Slugwash Lane,
near Haywards Heath, and
built an oak-framed workshop and office as a demonstration building.
The
expansion into
oak framed buildings
was a natural progression.
OUR APPROACH
Through every stage of
development, from the initial conversation about a new building,
extension or
restoration, to the production of technical drawings and a quotation,
right
through to completion, we see the relationship with our clients as a
partnership. We are happy to work with clients’ own
architects or to make
recommendations. Whatever the mix of the team, we are flexible and
enjoy
project management, ensuring regular communication between all parties. However big or small, we
take pride in
fulfilling all projects within the agreed deadline and budget.
ECO ALTERNATIVES
We are currently working on
an innovative eco project to produce a blueprint for affordable,
modular
timber-frame housing. The concept combines traditional architectural
styles
with renewable materials and innovative, energy-saving technology.
Our portfolio of oak-framed
projects ranges from summerhouses, garages, house extensions and barns
to a
school.
